Admissions Guide

LOCATION

Oak International School current campus which opened in August 2015, is located in Bunga Kawuku along Hamis Kiggundu Road, Makindye Division. The premises include an Early years, Primary and Secondary section.

VISITING THE SCHOOL

We have an open door policy, prospective parents and students can visit the school on week days between 9am and 4pm to have an orientation about the school.

ADMISSIONS @ OIS

Admissions at OIS follow a precise process. Parents and students interested in attending OIS MUST pay a non-refundable admission fee, fill out the admissions forms and take interviews to be placed in an appropriate class.

Our Admission process is guided and carefully organised to ensure a smooth placement for your child. A parent can choose to download the admission package from this page, print it, fill out the forms and proceed to the next step in the admission process. However, for further processing, a parent must pay all the mandatory admission fees.

School Menu

Our menu includes; salads, juices, rice, chapatti, vegetable soup, chicken, fish fillets and pizza, all these served at selected days.

Note: Our Main Menu changes per term.

Transport

Bus service is available at our school. The transport fee depends on the distance.

Clubs

After-school clubs seek to equip our students with more skills than what is learnt in class.
Clubs offered include; robotics, coding, scouting, keyboard/piano and sports.
In addition, dancing, aerobics, reading and storytelling, acting and engaging in spoken word, and other hands-on art activities. These creative outlets help our students develop their passions and critical thinking skills outside traditional classroom activities.
Each club costs $75.

THE PROCESS

Assessment

Either during a routine school visit or at a later date, prospective students take an assessment. The type of assessment varies by class.

A student is required to complete a test in English, Maths and Science to determine the child’s ability to succeed in a given class.

Acceptance

Once your child has taken the tests, we will require you to reserve a place with a non refundable admission fee and fill out the admission forms.

Documents

Along with the admission forms provided by the admissions office or downloadable from our website, the following documents copies must be provided

  • 1 coloured passport photo
  • 1 passport photo for the person responsible for picking your child from school
  • Medical information about; immunization, allergies and any other healthy complications.
